The Sauce Couldn’t Save the Chicken The butter chicken arrived looking exactly like the kind of dish that should win you over immediately: deep orange sauce, a swirl of cream, generous portions of chicken, rice alongside, and garlic naan fresh from the tandoor. The first impression was considerably better than the last. Cutting into the chicken told the story. Despite being completely surrounded by sauce, the meat itself was dry and fibrous. The medium-spiced sauce coated the exterior well, but the flavor never seemed to penetrate the chicken. It created an interesting contradiction: a dish swimming in sauce that still ate dry. The rice arrived at room temperature. The garlic naan had genuinely good char and solid bread flavor, and the garlic was clearly visible across the surface, but surprisingly little garlic flavor actually came through. Of everything ordered, the mango lassi was the strongest part of the meal. It was pleasant, refreshing, and the only item I finished. Service was straightforward, including payment processed directly at the table, although after payment no guest receipt was offered before the server thanked me and walked away. Service! We had an absolutely incredible meal at Tikka House! The Chicken 65 Biryani was massive and packed with flavor, and the chicken itself was unbelievably tender. For dessert, the Rasmalai was to die for—it honestly tasted like it was fresh and gifted straight from a Haldiram tin, not just your average restaurant-made version. To top it all off, our waiter, Harish, provided amazing service throughout our meal. The owner, Akshay, definitely needs to give him a raise! We will absolutely be back.

The food was extremely good! We’ve tried authentic Indian cuisine in both India and Nepal and this certainly measures up. There’s a good selection and good portion size. We ordered the paneer tika, plain naan, butter naan, butter chicken, and pani puri and enjoyed all of it! If you’ve never tried pani puri it’s a fun experience, and a delicious bite :) the service was friendly and fast as well. We will definitely visit again!

Lunch buffet, 15 May 26. This place is a gem. I’ve had the opportunity to work in many states and dozens of countries, including India (Mumbai, Cochin, Vizag, Vadodara, Delhi). I absolutely adore and obsess over this style. Tikka House is representative of the style, and I especially appreciate the (well marinated) tandoori chicken and layered complexity of the various curries available the day i visited, the usual, typical curry dishes we all know and love. I make good curries at home, and have had the great luck of enjoying them around the world. Tikka House in Waco, Tx is yummy on all accounts, i was almost tempted to drop my fork and spoon and eat my food Indian style 🤣 Bahhut svadishst kana hei, bahut achha, mujhei yei pasanda hei, danyavad! 👍😁👍

The food is very good and authentic. We had the fried fish appetizer, portion is great for the price. Then the entree we had chicken Vindaloo curry, and Tikka chicken breast. The entree size is not very big, 2 people may need 3 entree dishes and 1 appetizer. The water is not complementary and there is no choice because it is said the tap is not working so has to buy bottled water. All in all the experience is good
